LAS VEGAS, Nevada: Federal authorities are investigating after a Frontier Airlines plane made an emergency landing in Las Vegas.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported that Frontier Flight 1326, traveling from San Diego with 190 passengers, declared an emergency while landing at Harry Reid International Airport on Saturday afternoon. The crew reported smoke in the cockpit during the landing process.
After the plane touched down, airport emergency crews extinguished a fire in the aircraft's right engine, according to the FAA. Witnesses at the airport observed flames and smoke emanating from the plane's underside.
Frontier Airlines stated that no injuries were reported, and all passengers, along with seven crew members, safely exited the aircraft using stairs and were transported to the terminal.
The National Transportation Safety Board recently announced that it would join the FAA in investigating the incident.
