Bulgarian Posts Resumes Mail to Several Middle Eastern Countries

Bulgarian Posts announced that starting May 18, 2026, it will resume accepting outgoingmail to Iraq, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Oman after months of suspended services caused by instability in the Middle East.

The postal operator had halted deliveries to several countries in the region back in March after airlines canceled flights because of the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran. The disruption affected both air and maritime transport routes, making regular postal operations difficult.

The regional crisis intensified on February 28, 2026, when Israel launched what it described as a ?preventive? strike against Iran, later followed by U.S. attacks on Iranian targets. The conflict created significant logistical problems across the Middle East, including restrictions on flights and complications for cargo traffic passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

With some transport connections now gradually recovering, Bulgarian Posts is reopening services to part of the region, though broader transport disruptions linked to the conflict continue to affect international shipping networks.
